Personal Statement

One of my main goals is contributing to the success of a college golf team and making myself a greater golfer than I've already become. In the short time that I have been playing golf (since the summer of 2011) I have managed to find a high level of success. My hard work and dedication has made me the golfer I am today, I have an exceptional short and a swing that fits me well. I'd love to take my talents to the next level.

  • To: Whom it may Concern From: Tom Detmer Date: Oct. 8, 2013 Re: Recommendation for Nick Hamilton I have known Nick for three years and can state with sincerity he has been a class act ever since I have known him. His success and behaviors in the classroom and on the golf course are what you would expect from a good person: conscientious, punctual, disciplined, and hard-working. Nick was always one of the first to arrive at practice and almost always the last to leave, even some points having to “chase “ him away for his own benefit because of the harsh conditions outside. It is because of these qualities that I believe he will succeed in his pursuit of a collegiate career. His dedication and pride in all of his endeavors will make a coach and school proud of their affiliation with this young man. His attention to detail and focus on the task at hand makes him a pleasure to work with, because he can balance a good natured personality and a strong work ethic. Lastly, Nick has a good sense of ethics, something he derived while learning to excel at the game of golf, and this ethical nature is a welcome sight in today’s compromising society. He has also shown patience in giving of his own time to help younger golfers try to get better at their game. I believe Nick will be productive in whatever field he finally decides on. He has taken the necessary steps at an early age to prepare himself for whatever challenges lie ahead and he is certainly deserving of any opportunities that would come his way because he has earned them. Choosing Nick would just be proof that attitude and work ethic are endearing characteristics today and in the future. Sincerely, Tom Detmer Columbia High School Teacher and Golf Coach

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
