My name is Jason Walling, Jr. (go by "Junior"). I am a 15 year old 6'2" 215 pound Sophomore at McNary High School, who started on Varsity at both LB and RB. I was honored to be recognized as 1st Team All-League LB, 2nd Team All-League RB, and named to the All Mid-Valley Team as a LB. I was also a 10 game Varsity starter as a Freshman, and was recognized as a Greater Valley All- Conference Honorable Mention Safety.
I work year round with my sports performance trainer where I focus on speed, agility and individual strength. I am a three sport athlete that plays football, basketball and runs track. I also lift weights and play 7-on-7 football during the off season.
My collegiate goals include the ability to enroll in a accredited Health Care, Sports Science, or Engineering program, and attend a university where I can play football for a program that believes in me, and what I can bring to their team. I am a versatile football player that plays to win, provides leadership to my teammates in the midst of adversity, passionate about the game, determined, play with aggressiveness, tough mentally and physically, and am coachable. I aspire to play college football just like my dad, who played at Oregon State University in the early 1990's.
As a student-athlete, it's important to recognize that "student" comes first. As such, I strive to achieve excellent grades and currently have 3.94 GPA. I also look for opportunities to volunteer in my community such as leadership clubs (e.g. Junior National Honor Society, etc.) and volunteering at my school and youth athletic events.
To prospective college coaches, I am a dedicated student-athlete that not only works hard to improve my own performance, but also lead and motivate my teammates to train harder and compete at their highest level. I have a strong and consistent work ethic and hope that I have all the characteristics you look for in your prospective student-athlete. I look forward to hearing about your upcoming football camps and hope that I will have an opportunity to meet you and your staff, as well as learn more about your football program.
