Ever since kindergarten, I have been playing sports. I started playing the quarterback position in first grade, and I have loved the leadership and responsibility that it takes to play this position. Football has taught me about being a leader: it is about the sacrifice and service. I sacrifice time with my friends and family to work on and perfect my craft. I serve my teammates in every snap, every practice, and every game. I have taken these qualities from football into other aspects of my life as well. I serve my community. As a freshman, I already have 90 service hours. Most of those hours dedicated to helping children that are less fortunate than myself. I also carry this over to the classroom. My academic success is a direct reflection of the sacrifice I make daily.
I have set big goals for myself. I want to graduate high school with a 4.0+ GPA, finish in the top 10% of my class, and get over a 30 on the ACT. I want to get a scholarship to college and play football at a very high level. I plan to graduate with a pre-med degree. My parents, especially my dad, have pushed me to be successful not only in athletics and academics, but also, and most importantly, as a young man. I strive to be the best young man I can be, and the qualities that I have learned from football continue to help me along my journey.
