My name is Mitch Sharer and I have been playing football since I was 9 years old. Ever since I started playing I have been eating, sleeping, and breathing football. I am not only committed to constantly improving on the field but also in the classroom. I plan on pursuing a psychology degree while I am playing in college. I think what separates me form other candidates is that I have a relentless work ethic on the field, in the classroom, and in the weight room. Also I care about being a good person and teammate just as much as I care about being a good football player.
I play for Mundelein High School in Mundelein, Illinois and started all 9 games at right tackle on our varsity team this fall. I've posted my junior highlights now that the season has concluded. I feel that I am very versatile and could play pretty much any where on the o-line in college. I am currently 6'4'' 280 lbs. and could potentially grow up to two more inches so my position could depend on how much bigger I end up getting. I would prefer to play guard or tackle but am open to playing center in college.
In the classroom at Mundelein I currently have around a 3.70 GPA and my best ACT score so far is a 25 composite score. I have already taken some honors classes and plan on taking AP classes once I get further along in my high school career. I also am a student in the AVID program at my high school so that I can be prepared for college. I certainly enjoy learning and can't wait to further my education at a well respected university.
Football is something that I have a true passion for in my life and I can't wait to play it in college. I hope that it will give me an opportunity to further my education and earn a degree while playing the sport that I love most. I know that my passion for football is very hard to match and I will always work hard to be the best football player that I can be. I'm dedicated, motivated, and committed to being a student athlete in the true sense of the word. If who you are is what you love, I am a football player.
