Phil Frazetta’s Personal Statement
I would be an outstanding acquisition for any team. I have several strong attributes which I feel are essential to being successful as a student and as a quarterback.
First, I feel the strongest attribute I could bring to any team is my integrity. Integrity is the foundation of every aspect of your life. Integrity leads to setting the example through hard work and leadership, and culminates in performance. Being a believer in doing the right thing, even when no one else is watching, has led to personal achievement like having the highest bench press on my team, and also drives me to always seek improvement in my level of performance. I take seriously my own off season workouts, and I constantly attend QB camps on off weekends and work out with current college QBs whenever possible. This integrity based work ethic has ensured me the confidence to lead my team by example, and also drives my teammates to a higher performance level. This level of integrity fortified a work ethic that translated into me scoring 17TD’s and leading my freshman team to a 7-1 record this season.
Secondly, I feel I bring a high level of coachability. Having played the position since I was five years old, I’ve been able to learn from many coaches and have successfully adapted to many offenses. Having won several youth awards with my local youth teams, FBU, NFA, and O-D, I’ve been able to achieve success under the instruction of several different coaching styles. This flexability and desire to learn new aspects of the game is essential to transitioning as a next level quarterback.
Finally, I feel my technical skill as a quarterback really sets me apart from my peers. I consistently devote many hours to perfecting my skill set including; throwing mechanics, drop/footwork, escapes, arm strength, read options, RPO’s, and reading defenses. I always feel very comfortable leading my team in clutch situations. Preparation in these areas has been fundamental to me having success and fun on the football field.
In conclusion these attributes coupled with my intense work ethic, self-motivation, and love and support of my family, have had and will continue make me a successful quarterback, student, and person.
