Salene Shaffer '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'4" Senior from Greenwood High School in Millerstown, PA. My passion for field hockey began when I started playing in the interscholastic program in 4th grade. I have played on our varsity team since my freshman year at a forward position. This past season I was a 1st Team Tri-Valley League All-Star. Some of my strengths are my quickness and speed, along with the ability to visualize where my teammates and opponents are on the playing field. I have participated in the Futures program and attend camps every summer. Although field hockey is my passion, I am a three sport athlete. I have played basketball and softball on our varsity teams since my freshman year. As of the end of my junior year I have earned nine varsity letters in three sports. I would like to attend a college or university on the east coast. I am looking for an institution where I can obtain a degree in the field of nursing and fulfill my dream of continuing to play field hockey at the collegiate level.
