One of my life long dreams was to become a professional softball player. Since I was 7, I would go to the batting cages, and read about Jenny Finch and her accomplishments. It was a sport that I truly loved and it basically consumed my life, but at the time I loved every second of it. Going into the 7th grade I knew I wanted to play 3 sports, so I tried field hockey, and to be honest I never thought I would’ve enjoyed it. Later that year, I joined a club team, Rapid Fire Elite, and have been playing non-stop ever since.
When freshman year came around I couldn’t wait to tryout for the varsity team, at Arthur L. Johnson High School, and get started with the season. When our head coach announced our varsity team I was one of two-freshman who had made it. At the end of my freshman season I had 8 goals, and 13 assists and was selected to 1st team all conference and 2nd team all county. After my first season at Johnson I decided to give up softball and concentrate on the sport I had a passion for, Field Hockey. Going into my sophomore year, I was ranked number 26 in returning assists leaders in the State of New Jersey. I’m so happy that I gave up softball when I did because now I finally have a chance to follow my dreams. I will be continuing to attend many tournaments, college showcases, private training, and summer camps to improve my chances to continue playing this sport I love in college.
