Personal Statement

I began playing field hockey later than most of my friends.  When I started playing club, I was on the lowest regional team.  From there, I worked my hardest and practiced almost everyday on my own, and never had individual lessons.  I have currently been on the top national team for Stealth Field Hockey club, for the past three years.  Our team ranked 2nd in the nation for U14 December 2017.  I have been selected Captain three times by my coaches, for national tournaments.  I have learned to be humble in my wins and display good sportsmanship.  In 2016, our team did not qualify for National Club Championship.  Due to our loss, it allowed me to analyze our mistakes and change them into strengths.  I have grown into a better leader and we were able to qualify for the 2017 National Club Championship, placing seventh.  I have always been one of the shortest of my teammates, and often overlooked initially at camps.  Due to my small size, I have to always play harder to show my strengths as a player.  I have learned to overcome this obstacle and have competed in Level 1 National Futures for 2 years.

As a freshman, I made the Jr Varsity team at Sacred Heart Academy and started as center midfielder.  Our team went undeafeated in the 2017 season and won three tournaments.  One of which I was awarded on the All-Tournament team.

I really enjoy being active and busy.  In addition to playing on multiple indoor and outdoor school, club, and recreational field hockey leagues, I play on a recreational tennis and swim team when available in the summers.  I also enjoy outdoor activities including hiking and kayaking.  My goal is to further enjoy high school and college life by playing the sport I love most, field hockey, and keep a good grade point average to excel both athletically and academically.  Both my school and club teams have been successful with many championship wins.  Therefore, I would like to play for a coach that has a fairly competitive program.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
