I've always been an athlete and I always want to be an athlete. I want to go as far as I can, for as long as I can. So that would definitely include college. It would be nice to be recognized for my skills even if I attend a small school. I was raised to bust my butt on and off the field and I am a very fast learner. Being a part of the team isn't good enough: I want to be a helpful, motivational, and inspiring teammate who doesn't just think about his own goals but seeks the good of the team also. I know it is not enough to just be a good athlete. I strive to be a student athlete; putting school first and then working hard to hone my athletics skills afterward. F's keep you off the field and I don't have time for that! When I get accepted to a college, I'm going there for an education and playing sports will be my driving force to learn.
My current baseball coach calls me the 'personality of the team'. I was given the Most Improved Award last season by my varsity basketball coach and the Most Valuable Goalie award this season by my varsity soccer coach. I made 2nd Team All-State for my high school's varsity baseball team last season as an 8th grader. I believe I got those awards because of my character just as much as my skill. I respect my coaches, my teammates and the game...no matter what game: no matter what coach. My mom taught me to never leave the park without shaking my coaches hand and thanking him for the time he poured into me. I'm still young and have a lot of developing to do but I'm working hard on my grades and getting better at each sport I play, everyday. Thank you for your time and your help. See you in four seasons!
Sincerely,
Anthony Dischert, Catcher, 6'4", 230
