Drew Ball '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Andrew Ball and I am 14 years old and I attend Lake Middle School in Woodbury Minnesota. I have played AAA baseball for 5 years and have a goal to make varsity as a sophomore. I also play at the elite level for Great Lakes Baseball Academy, which is a club comprised of athletes from the Minneapolis metro area. My primary positions are RHP and 1B.  I currently have a very good fastball and also have good command of my curveball and change up. Last season I had 60 Ks in 60 IP compared to only 18 BB. At 1B, I led our team in fielding percentage. I have led our team in extra base hits for the past 3 seasons. My approach at the plate has gotten much better over the past seasons. I have learned that as long as I have a good approach at the plate and hit the ball hard, I have done my job and results will take care of themselves. In addition to skills training, I work out with a trainer 2- 3 days per week at Summit Orthopedic Sports Medicine. I currently carry a 3.5 GPA and am taking a number of advanced classes, such as, Chemistry and Geometry. I am always looking to get better at the game of baseball and in academics. I will give 150% of my effort in every practice, every game and in everything I do. I would prefer to go to a school in the Midwest region but any school is fine as is it’s division. Ultimately, my goal is to play baseball at the highest level at a school where I can succeed on the field and in the classroom.
