Riley Weber, Catc...Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Riley Weber. I'm a 2021 catcher from Athens High School in Troy, Michigan. I also pitch and play first and third base for the Motor City Hit Dogs travel team—one of the top travel organizations in the country. I’m willing to do whatever my team needs, so I make it a point to be available for any situation my coaches may request. I also truly feel it is on me to put in the work and time to be the best student athlete I can be. Some of my best accomplishments to date are attending the 2014 USSSA All-American Games, a 2016 Baseball Youth All-American, and a 2017 USSSA S30 selection.
While I may not be the biggest, fastest or strongest athlete, I make up for it by outworking my competitors both on the field and in the classroom. Academics are very important to my family (both my parents are teachers) and me. As an athlete who does extremely well in school—especially in math—I’m looking for a college to meet my academic needs. I'm considering a career in architectural engineering and/or computer science.
