Dear Coaches:
I have been blessed with good mechanics and athletic ability that allows me to play multiple positions well.
I started playing baseball as a middle infielder and then took on the roll of catching for many years. Highlights
of my baseball career include being selected to various all star teams, winning district and state championships
and playing in the 2016 Babe Ruth World Series. Even though my team did not win, we had a great time and competed
against teams from around the United States.
Recently I completed my freshman year in high school where I pitched, caught, played 2nd, 3rd and short. I am a
right handed pitcher who focuses on getting strikes and keeping any hit balls on the ground. I have surrounded myself
with the best people in the field for sports fitness, and strength building, and will continue to see my velocity
go up as I build muscle mass. All of the pitching coaches I have worked with have told me that my mechanics are sound so I look
forward to seeing what the future brings. For now, my ability to stay ahead of hitters and locate pitches has worked well for me.
I have pitched several complete games in Babe Ruth ball and am known for my curveball.
My short term goals are to add some muscle mass and get ready for the next season of high school ball. My long term goal would be to play
baseball for a college that can provide me with the academic major I want to pursue and to have a great time doing both!!!!
Thank you for reading my profile.
Best Wishes,
Greg Gentle
