I am Ryan Schippers and i live in Hays, Kansas. I am a multi-sport athlete and attend Thomas More Prep-Marian High School and have played on the Varsity Baseball team since my Freshman year. I have a goal and plan for the college team i am playing for, which is to be a contender for a Conference and National Title. I also plan on contending for personal awards for Conference and Nationally. The things that make me a well-rounded person for their team, is that i am willing to do anything it takes in the proper and correct manner to achieve excellence on and off the field while following the rules. I am also a person that strives to see my teammates have success while on the field and in the classroom. Another category that sets me apart from many soon college athletes and those who are already college athletes is, i do not drink or do drugs; therefor i do not party or do things which are irresponsible and immature of most young adults. I also am willing to go the extra mile to make myself a better athlete and student, and to achieve nothing but the greatest of excellence. I am well disciplined and was taught very young, that taking criticism and accepting it will take you a long way in life. If a coach criticizes me, i shut up and listen and do what he asks of me. I am not a superstar or phenom of any sort, so listening to the people who have more knowledge makes me better then just an average or mediocre player, along with talent that i have from my father who played college baseball also.

There are a few attributes that sets me apart from other recruits. I am not wanting to just play the game,"to say i played it, or made it." I want to continue playing this game, because it is what i enjoy, and what i have grown up to love. Being around the game and with my teammates and coaches is what i enjoy the most. I also do not plan on just getting by through college. I am not about just surviving and advancing, however i am about the thought of dominating and conquering in whatever task i am doing. Whether it is on the field, or in a classroom. To conclude, i am commonly told that i am a leader on and off the field, showing good examples for my peers and underclassman. I am not afraid to give advice on something that i might think will help either a teammate or the team, which makes me well spoken and willing to take over in crucial parts of a game or in a tough part of class.
