I will bring dedication, leadership, and a strong will to win to whichever school I attend. I see my role as a catcher as putting the coaches' strategy into action on the field: calling pitches and receiving to keep every strike called a strike, lining up cutoffs, blocking and throwing to prevent steals, making outs, or bringing energy to the team. Off the field I help my pitchers while catching bullpens, and look for every way I can have a positive impact. I will always put in 100% effort in practice, on the field, and with my classes.
My goal is to get a great education while developing my baseball skills and playing the game I love. I'm interested in studying computer science, information security, or business, and I'm looking for a school with a strong program. My uncle was a catcher in college, and my father earned four monograms as a varsity fencer at Notre Dame and helped his team take 3rd in the NCAA Division 1 championships, and had a great experience as a student athlete. I want to have the same experience competing as an athlete for a great school. I have a 3.72 weighted GPA taking the most rigorous schedule my school offers with all honors and AP classes. I scored a 32 on my April ACT and I'm retaking it at least once more to raise my score.
I am constantly working to improve my hitting, defensive skills, strength and conditioning. Coaches and instructors with professional experience have told me that I have what it takes to be competitive at the college level. My best pop time is just under 2.0 and consistently in the 2.0 range, and I'm working to bring that down further. I have been complimented by multiple college coaches on my receiving, blocking, and throwing skills, and on my overall energy and hustle, whether it's catching foul tips at the fence line, telling fielders if a foul ball is going out of play, or covering 1st in case of an overthrow (which has already paid off this season preventing runners from advancing).
