I have been playing golf since I was young, but never entered any formal tournaments. I was playing more baseball than golf. I pitched and played first base for school and travel baseball. It was only until the summer going into high school that I realized golf was what I enjoyed most. Entering our freshman year, most of my friends chose football. I chose the path less traveled-golf. Golf is my passion now. I am driven and willing to put everything I've got into improving my game and reaching my goals. I get to the course almost everyday. I take private lessons at our country club. I have already asked if I could work at the golf course next summer even though I won't be sixteen. I want to help teach at the kids camps as well. I am also good with special needs kids and would like to start up a camp for them.
I know I would be a positive asset to any college golf team as a player, a teammate and as an individual. I have played baseball for ten years and basketball for four years and know what it takes to be a team player and a leader. My long term goal as a golfer is to compete at the collegiate level and double major in business and golf course management if it is offered. I not only want to play the game of golf professionally, but want to make a career out of it as well. Unfortunately, I live in the Midwest and cannot golf outside year round, so I will be signing up for tournaments next summer and am eager to see my game improve.
