Mateo Guittap '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a motivated, hard working, and passionate person.  I work hard in baseball and enjoy helping my team win whether it's just by hitting a sacrifice fly, using my speed to take the extra base, or giving up no hits or walks in relief.  I play catcher mainly because I am quick, can talk the game up well, and am a good leader.  I also have good fundamentals in most aspects of baseball.  I can also play a lot of other positions. In travel ball I have pitched, played 2nd base, shortstop, 3rd base, all outfield positions, and have mostly caught.

I study hard which is why I have a 4.0 GPA.  I also do cross country and basketball as my other sports.  In college I plan to study business because it will give me a good foundation for any career.  I also plan to study engineering because I'm strong in math and science and I've always loved building things.  I love my family and am thankful for all the things they have provided me with. My goal is to play baseball in the major leagues and playing college baseball is a step I need to take to get closer to that goal.
