Austin Tackett '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Austin Tackett. I am a senior at Brookside High School in Sheffield Lake, Ohio. I am 17 years of age and stand 6' 0" tall, 190 pounds. My 40 time is a 4.69. My maxes over the years have increased greatly. My bench is 300, squat is 425, and power clean is 230. I am a three year varsity wrestler and a two year varsity football player. I was a captain for both sports for two years. I wrestle at the 171 pound weight class. My accomplishments in wrestling have also increased through my years of high school. My freshman year record was 22-7, sophomore year was 20-5, and my junior year was 37-3. Sophomore year I placed fourth in the conference at 160 pounds and was an alternate for districts. My junior year I was a champion at many tournaments including conference at 171 pounds. I was also a district qualifier in 2010. (Did not wrestle districts due to injury.) I ended my Senior year at 34-4, went to Districts and lost a close match by one point keeping me out of states. I have made many great accomplishments in my varsity football career. Freshman year our team came together as a family and we won conference. The following year, as a sophomore, i was honorable mention All-Conference defensive lineman. I stepped it up my junior year. I was first team All-Conference, first team All-County, first team All-District, and honorable mention All-Ohio middle linebacker, in addition to other awards given by the school/team. I can offer a team and school many different things. I can offer leadership, strong work ethic, and the determination/drive to be the best I can be. I give 110% on and off the mat. My decision on a college has been undecided. The division of the college does not become an issue. Also, the location and size of the college is not a factor. I am counting on scholarships and financial aid to help me finance my college education. I am interested in taking courses to become a personal trainer. To achieve this goal I will study hard and keep my determination in play. My goal is to be a starter at the college level. I believe good character and setting personal goals is what makes dreams come true. I incorporate that with hard work to be the best I can be. I will bring that to your school and more.
