I am a six foot tall seventeen year old weighing about 150-160 pounds. This past season, my Junior year, I qualified for the NYSPHSAA State Championships at 160 lbs while compiling a record of 37-5. My career record is currently at 114-42. I have good arm, chest and shoulder strength and a strong core and hips. I have acceptionally long arms and legs and I would consider myself more of a lanky wrestler. I have been wrestling for 8 years and I have been on the Varsity team as a starter for four years beginning in the eighth grade. As an eighth grader in the 135 weight class I qualified for sectionals, and my freshmen year also at 135 I came in second for the sectional qualifier. My sophmore season I won the sectional qualifier at 152 and was first team all league. During the offseason, I wrestle freestyle and greco-roman with Mohawk Valley Wrestling Club where I am part of their traveling team. I have been to Puerto Rico ,The Netherlands and Germany with them. I feel like I can offer several things to a team including leadership (I have been a team captain for 3 years, since my freshmen year), dedication (I will often come before practice to start working out or stay after practice to go get an extra workout or wake up early in the morning beofre school to go wrestle and perfect technique) as well as passion and good energy (I love wrestling and I can't imagine myself not in a wrestling room during college, it has been my ultimate goal to make it to the next level). I would like to go to school anywhere from Massachusetts to South Carolina or Georgia all the way over to Michigan or Ohio area. I don't have too many preferences when it comes to what kind of school; I am open to all types of schools. I would like my school to have a high academic standard and high competition. I am looking to get into the field of athletic training and sports medicine or physical therapy. My goals are to get into a college line up, fight and deserve my spot and become a leader on my team and win as many matches as I can. Hopefully by the end of my senior year I can make All American. I think I have what it takes to make it as a college athlete as I am a driven, hard working individual both in the classroom and on the wrestling mat. I was once told that you can only be really good at two of three things: school, your sport or your social life. So far I think I have made the right decisions focusing primarily on my school work and my sport.
