My number one priority in college is to graduate with a high GPA, and a degree in Engineering. Having the opportunity to wrestle or play football in college would be amazing, and it is a challenge I am ready for. I love a challenge, and always strive to be the best I can, in everything I do. I have been wrestling and playing football since 3rd grade. Through high school, I have been on varsity wrestling and golf for 3 years, and varsity football for 2 years. I was a captain on the wrestling and golf team this year. I think a great leader is someone who leads by example in practice, competition, the classroom, and their daily life. I think what initially interested me in sports is that I love competition. Winning is a great feeling. Whether it is a wrestling match, a big exam, or a presentation in school, I want to win, get the best grade, or have the best presentation. I feel that I have learned to overcome adversity in wrestling and football. In wrestling, I had 43 varsity wins my freshman and sophomore years combined. I qualified for regionals both years, but, that was not good enough by my standards. I put a lot of work in over the summer in the weight room and on the mat, and finished my junior year with 46 varsity wins, and a trip to state. In football I love playing defense, but, I have been one of the best offensive lineman in our program since 3rd grade. I am undersized, but I have speed and great footwork. Due to this, I have been a starter on varsity since 10th grade. Even though I would much rather play another position, I try and be a good team player, and play the position that the coaches feel I can best help the team.
In addition to sports, I do many other activities. I am active in the Boy Scouts of America. I am 3 merit badges and my service project away from receiving my Eagle. I also enjoy being outside. Fishing is one of my favorite things to do, when I actually have free time. I also work for 3 different individuals so that I can earn money. Between school, sports, lifting, Boy Scouts, and work, I do not have much down time. I work hard in every aspect of my life, and I look forward to doing the same thing in college. After high school, I will continue to strive to be the best I can be, in academics and athletics, for the college I attend. I look forward to taking the next step. Thank you for your time.
