Isabel French '16 Recruiting Profile

My love for water polo began my freshman year when I played on my HS JV team.  I began learning different positions and towards the end of my first season I was brought up to the Varsity team to be the goalie during Sectionals competition.

On Varsity my Sophomore year, I had multiple coaches and officials congratulate me or my coach on my performances.  I also earned the Most Valuable Player award in 2014.

In 2015, as a Junior, I earned 1st team All-Sectionals, and even despite not playing at State, I earned 4th team All-State as well. I was awarded MVP for the second year in a row and I also beat my last season record of 302 blocks, blocking a total of 403 shots.  In addition, I was the Chicago Tribune area athlete of the month and NVHS athlete of the week. 

With my background of being a club swimmer, a High School state swim qualifier, and with having practiced with the West Suburban Water Polo Club for the past three summers, it has made me faster, stronger, and taught me about dedication.

With three 5 a.m. practices and six afternoon practices a week, for almost seven months of the year, I challenge myself to keep my grades up and it has taught me how to prioritize my time to put 100 percent effort into all that I do.  I am determined to improve myself as a student and athlete.
