Rain Rollins '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Rain Rollins, I'm a junior, and I play water polo for Don Antonio Lugo High School in Chino, CA. I started playing water polo my sophomore year, made varsity, and fell in love with the sport. As I dedicated my time to water polo, I grew a passion for it and have continuously worked on improving my skills. Over the summer into my junior year I trained with former college athletes in order to play 2m and 2m guard. I am 5'3, weigh 125 pounds, and even though I earn kick outs I am also very fast with my drives. Playing water polo made me realize exactly how much I love being in the pool. I enjoy going to practice and improving my skills and techniques. Along with playing water polo I am also on my high school swim team. I race in the 200 i.m., 50 free, and 100 free. I play water polo and swim because I enjoy it so much and it makes me feel better about myself. While in the pool I am able to relieve stress, meet great athletes, and build good friendships. I love to see the look on the faces of the people I love as I am playing or when I finish a race because it encourages me to keep going. My family is very supportive of me and I give it my all on the field and with my education to make my family, teammates, and coaches proud of me. My education is just as important to me as my sports. I maintain a GPA higher than a 3.0 and take a couple higher classes such as Honors and College Prep. If I am not in the pool then I am either studying, doing homework, or spending time with my family. I want to be a college athlete because I am not ready to stop playing water polo and racing. I want to learn more about the sport while improving my skills with the help of new coaches since I am ready for the challenges and new competition.
