Alyssa Jenkins '14 Recruiting Profile

I am Alyssa Nicole Jenkins.

I am the strong eldest daughter of a multi-racial divorced couple. My family has shown me struggles, recovery, triumphs, redemption and unconditional love. I have a blended family of two full siblings, two half siblings and three step siblings and I am very proud of my German, Scandinavian, Mexican and English heritage.

 I had maintained A's and B's in my Senior Year, obtained my CPR certification and worked as a Lifeguard for my community. I currently play at Diablo Valley College. My women's water polo team at Diablo Valley College became Big 8 and Norcal Champs, placing 3rd in state for 2014 and 2015.  I am a utility player and can be found in any position in the pool. I help my team as a driver, two meter and two meter defender. I also assistant coach for the Bay Area Sunset Aquatics Water Polo Club in the Winter and Summer season. An avid swimmer (I began swimming at six months of age), my passion is Water Polo.

I am an athlete, a sister, and a friend to many. I am an American and I am proud to call this country my home. Many of my family members have served and are still serving in the military to give me the freedom and opportunity to become the young woman I am today.

I see the next few years as my chance to become a leader for my community, an example for my younger siblings and an intelligent woman; a product of my opportunities and blessings received.

I know my life's journey is just beginning and with the help of my Higher Power, my family and my education I can reach my full potential. I believe I can achieve it all, remember where I come from and pay it forward.
