NCAA Division 3 volleyball schools are known for their smaller, more intimate campuses, strong emphasis on academics and ability to provide student-athletes with a well-rounded college experience. Division 3 volleyball schools are still very competitive, but athletes have the ability to create a more traditional college experience for themselves. To that end, the D3 playing season and eligibility standards are designed to minimize conflicts between athletics and academics, putting more time back in student-athletes’ schedules.

At Division 3 volleyball schools, coaches aren’t bound by strict recruiting rules like the other NCAA division levels, so they can reach out to recruits at any point. The goal is to give coaches and athletes more time to build relationships and ensure that the school is truly the right fit for that athlete. Do Division 3 schools offer volleyball scholarships?

While NCAA Division 3 volleyball colleges don’t offer athletic scholarships, they have plenty of other scholarship opportunities that students can take advantage of. In fact, most student-athletes at Division 3 schools benefit from some form of financial aid. From academic scholarships, to need-based and merit scholarships, there are plenty of ways to help pay for an athlete’s education if they have the required grades and resume.
