Emerson Coburn 20...Personal Statement
For as long as I can remember I've been one of the most competitive people I know. Moving the summer before my freshman year to a new city and school and starting on the varsity as a freshman pushed me past my levels of comfort as an athlete, student, and person. Lewisville High School plays in one of the most competitive districts in the state of Texas, and this was the first time I had ever experienced a losing season. That season pushed me in the gym to become a better player and out of the gym to become a better student and leader. I'm looking for a college that will do the same. I'm looking for a school that matches with me well athletically as well as pushing me academically. What makes me different is my competitive drive and my willingness to do anything to win. Coaches have asked me to switch positions mid-season on multiple occasions. I am willing to do anything to give my team a competitive edge.
