I became interested in volleyball in third grade when my mom was coaching one of our school volleyball teams. I enjoyed going with her regularly to watch the games. Over the course of that season, I became increasingly fond of the sport and I developed a strong interest in playing. My first year of playing volleyball was actually in third grade, with my mom as our coach. I vividly remember the excitement, pride, and happiness we experienced when we won the city championship that year...an honor I will never forget.

I soon felt a bit conflicted because I was also interested in the dance arts, and I came to realize that participating in both activities was very stressful. After some soul searching, I decided to choose volleyball over dancing. I've learned many things in my years of playing volleyball. For example, I've learned the importance of mental preparation, self-discipline, good sportsmanship, and I have developed concrete ideas on what I want to do in the future. My faith and my family's love and support have molded me into who I am today. My parents push me to maintain an “A” average in all my subjects, to be committed to volleyball, and to be active in the church. They always tell me to stay one step ahead and strive to play volleyball to my maximum potential. I have many other interests as well, so I consider myself a well-rounded individual. I am an artist and have had the privilege and honor of having my art published. I also enjoy reading books and engaging in the adventures that each book provides. The person I am today is clearly a result of hard work, faith in God, and the love of my family. I'm enjoying the present, and I look forward to pursuing my short-term and long-term goals and dreams in the future.
