Volleyball has been a passion since I was very young. I remember going to watch my parents play well before I was old enough to compete, and I remember being ran off of the court because I was too young to play. I bet I bumped a ball off of a gym wall about a thousand times before it was finally my time to play. I started playing for my first team when I was nine, and I played for that same team until I was old enough to join the club that I play for today. I believe in loyalty to a team and finishing what I have started, and I have practiced this philosophy throughout my time in the sport.
I have successfully made the “A” Squads for my 7th, 8th, and 9th grade teams, and I have also been fortunate enough to be named “Captain” of my freshman team as well as for my club team each year. I never set out to be the captain of any of the teams; however, if you set the right example on and off of the court other players will look to you when it’s time to compete. I enjoy the servant leadership role, and I will embrace it whenever it is thrust upon me. I am looking for a school where I can excel on the court as well as in the classroom. Both playing time and a strong Education Department are at the top of my priority list. I have always known that I wanted to play volleyball in college, and I am very excited about the possibilities that the future may hold for me in the sport.
