I began playing volleyball in seventh grade. My love for the sport grew quickly and I committed my time to becoming a better player. I was offered a position on a National Team in 2011 and have not looked back. I continue to challenge myself by developing different skill sets in all positions. My biggest strength is that I am a team player. My teammates rely on my skills and when I step onto the court they count on me to terminate the ball. I put in extra time outside of practice to work on specific skill sets with a private coach and strength trainer so during practice I am focused on the team goal. I have been fortunate to attend USAV HP training camps the past three years and play grass tournaments through the summer to sharpen my skills. The past two years I have also had the privilege of attending the NCAA Final Four through the AVCA Phenom program. This year my VPI score increased to 514. I am attending the A2 training program in Colorado Springs this year through USAV HP. I feel this level of play will help me make the transition from high school ball to making an immediate impact in a college program. In the classroom I am in an all honors curriculum and continue to challenge myself by taking AP courses. I received the STEM Leadership Award from my high school this year due to my willingness to challenge myself in Engineering and Organic Chemistry. My college plans are to study science and engineering fields. I am determined to attend a highly academic post secondary institution in order to obtain a degree in engineering. Volleyball provides strategies of time management and organization that I need to be successful on the court and in the classroom. My goal is to continue to improve my volleyball skills and to be a dedicated student to earn the best collegiate opportunities.
