I feel that what sets me apart is the ability to overcome adversity. In spite of some personal challenges in my life, I set a goal and have continued to move towards it. Even though I do sometimes feel discouraged, what moves me forward is that my mind set is fixed on the goal of success. I also feel that success isn't only outward, but that it goes beyond good grades and encompasses maintaining good character. I want good ethics such as hard work and honesty, to be the qualities people see in me. It will allow me to be truly proud of the things that I have earned. I also want to be a kind and compassionate person so that I can make the lives of those around me better. i feel just as I have overcome obstacles, I can help others to do so. I have ambition, and desire to become someone so successful, to make a change to the world we live in.
I have the utmost respect to those who try and keep trying to make a difference. in my main family I will be the second that plans to go to college and complete any bachelor's or master's degree. My goal is to receive a good education, make something of myself; and provide for my family. Give them things that we've never had. An opportunity to experience things we never could, because of money situations and such. I have the determination and the drive to become something great to support the people I love. i believe I have good work ethics, I have the discipline and the patients. I obtain high leadership skills. I believe I set a great example for the younger children around me. A lot of the children around me see me as a role- model so I have been told. I am outgoing, many have told me I am compassionate, creative, motivated, because of the various groups and clubs I am involved in. I am a part of every music program in my school; choir, Band, Orchestra. I am a Soprano in G.A.R Memorial High Schools Choir. I play four different saxophones in band; alto, soprano, tenor, and baritone. I also play the violin for the Orchestra. I am a athlete; I am a four year varsity starter for the G.A.R's Volleyball Team. Also I am a first baseman and catcher for G.A.R's Softball. I certainly plan on playing both sports in college.
Playing in all these extracurricular activities you're required to uphold qualities. I get that I am dependent, trustworthy, reliable and generous often. My help goes out to anyone who is in need of it. Which is why most adult in my life have always pointed me in the direction of teaching. I enjoy helping and watching my friends and in general anyone succeed in anything. Like to assist others and help in any way I can. I have been told I have an act for teaching so it's kind of kind of just falling into the category for me. I've been told I am very responsible, respectful, mature and well organized; I'm secretary for Ms.Burke, the music teacher at G.A.R Memorial High School for the last five years. I know I have the skill and the qualities to become anything I would like but; I'm not exactly sure what I am going to school for yet. I have been told I was going to be an educator my whole life so that looks like a big option at the moment for either Music, Mathematics or English. My only hope for the future is to be able to give back to everyone who has made me who I am today. Me personally, I am one who definitely cares deeply about the people around me, and I appreciate the opportunities I've been given. For not everyone is as blessed as I've been. I know my future is unclear, but it is bright no matter where I go.
