Payton Manwaring '17 Recruiting Profile

I started playing sports when I was in third grade. I loved to play soccer and basketball. I was very competitive and strived to be the best on the court and field at a young age. I didn't discover volleyball until I was in seventh grade. I instantly fell in love with volleyball and played on the eighth grade team as a seventh grader. I knew I wanted to continue to play and work hard to become the best I could be and play at a higher level. Once I set a goal for myself I work tirelessly to achieve it. I play soccer in the fall to prepare physically for the winter volleyball season and I enjoy regular weight training to help me become stronger and a better overall volleyball player. Now that I play at the varsity level and club, I strive to be an inspiration and a leader to my team by exhibiting strong team spirit, good sportsmanship and a solid work ethic.

I work very hard on my grades to make Honor Roll all the time. I am willing to sacrifice my free time between school and sports for studying to make sure I achieve high marks.

It is my dream to play volleyball in college at the highest level possible, while taking advantage of the opportunity to tie it in with getting a good education. I hope that I can find a college that is a good fit for me and will help me get a degree in a field that will enable me to excel at my future goals. I hope to play college volleyball, but it my long term goal is to receive the education I need to excel in the career I pursue.
