I began playing volleyball in the seventh grade. As a freshman, I played on my high school varsity team and as a sophomore and junior served as the captain of that team. Leading a team of older girls required me to be humble, but always be the person my team relied on each game. Each year I continue to work hard, take volleyball lessons and attend camps to become the best player I can be. I value the advice and critiques my coaches give me and try to work to please them at each practice and game. Playing volleyball with both my school and club teams has taught me to both win and lose, which I believe is what I will need to do in life.
My academic goal for high school is to continue on the Honors track and maintain my high GPA. I also believe in serving our community and participate as a mentor in Special Olympics, help with the Children’s Hospital toy drive with my school club, Future Business Leaders of America, and volunteer with youth volleyball.
My hope is to attend a college where I can pursue my career goal in business and entrepreneurial studies while playing volleyball. I hope to one day own my own salon/spa to help people heal their minds, bodies and spirits.
Finally, my unique characteristics and talents help me to be a well-rounded student-athlete. I excel in the classroom, in the gym and I absolutely love the arts! It is these attributes that I hope to bring with me to further my volleyball career at the collegiate level.
Best Regards,
Dominica Niccolai
