Abigail Powell '23 Recruiting Profile

Growing up, I tried and played countless sports and truly loved being an athlete. It wasn't until I was in 6th grade that I finally found volleyball. It was different from any sport I had ever played before and I knew it was the one I wanted to play for as long as I could and at the highest level I could.  I fell in love with the game and owe a lot to it. Playing volleyball has made me into a better athlete, student, and person. I have met so many incredible people and have had so many amazing experiences because of it.

Today, I am constantly working on bettering myself on and off the court. This sport has inspired me to set goals for myself each and every day. Therefore, I am very hard working. I have learned not to just show up to practice. but to compete and try to better not only for myself but for my team and everyone else around me. I am a highly coach-able athlete who loves the challenge of working hard and the mental toughness it takes to shoot for success.  I take this mindset with me through volleyball, school, workouts, and life in general.
