People ask me why I want to play college volleyball. The only real answer is that I can't picture myself doing anything else. Coming from a volleyball family and growing up in the huddle in the gym with my mom and all the high school and club players she coaches, I could not help but catch the infectious passion for volleyball we all share in our family. Devoting so much time to something you love creates a bond and, like all relationships, it helps mold the person you eventually become.
I have played club volleyball since I was 10 and I have always played up one or two age groups. I have been elected as a captain by my older teammates on each of the past 3 club volleyball teams and my current team because I know the game, will take initiative and because of my laid back and supportive leadership style.
This past club season on my 2015 GPS CRUSH 17 Orange team, I played my own age group for the first time. I was an elected team captain and a starting OH. As a team we had a really successful season and as a captain I was really proud of how we played all year. My team played 17 open and we made the playoffs in every tournament except one. We also won medals in two tournaments, including one gold and one silver. I was happy with how much I improved from the beginning to the end of the season, as I developed many more deceptive shots. I led our team in kills with 322, averaging 2.68 kills per game and led our outside hitters in hitting percentage at .194. As an OH, I had 38 blocks, .32 blocks per game. I also led our team in service aces with 70 aces, averaging .58 aces per game. At the end of our season, I received the "Competitive Edge" award from my team. I love my team; many of us have played together for 3-4 years.
In my Fall 2014 high school season at C.B. East, our team took second place in our conference and made it to the second round of District playoffs before losing to the #4 seed in five sets. As a junior I was a starting OH, was second on my team in kills and led my team and the conference in service aces. I was also voted to the 3rd team all-conference by the league coaches and I made the All-Intell Team HM.
I am training hard to improve all the skills that coaches have recommended I focus on over the past year. This summer I've already gone to a couple of 3 day camps and a 4 day Gold Medal Squared camp. My jump float serve was clocked at 40 mph with a radar gun at camp. I will also be working as a court coach at a camp for middle school girls that my club is running. I am trying to play in as many grass doubles tournaments as I can. Playing doubles has really helped me improve my all-around game and shows when I play indoor sixes.
My experience with volleyball has created a drive that motivates me in all of my endeavors. The intangible qualities of life that people struggle to find in themselves, I have already seen in the mirror: Leadership, perspective and patience are a few of these traits and I have developed them through volleyball.
I am looking for the right academic and athletic fit in my college search. I am a hard worker on and off the court. I am passionate about my volleyball, my schoolwork and my principles. I am easy to play with, easy to coach and I make my teammates around me better.

I have played club volleyball since I was 10 and I have always played up one or two age groups. - Results at www.sportwrench.com At the Capitol Hill Classic we had the opportunity to play against 2 teams on Saturday that finished #5 and #9 in 17 Open. On Sunday, we played some of the best volleyball our team has played this year, sweeping our pool. Against the strongest team on Sunday, I hit .364 with 33 swings,13 kills and 1 attack error. In that same 3 game match I served 13 balls with 4 aces and 1 service error. We finished the tournament 37th out of the 64 Open teams.

- Our team was a Semi-Finalist in the Silver Bracket taking Allegro National to 3 sets. We finished 15th of 39 17 Open Teams. We got to play the 1st place (Renaissance KE) and 5th place in 3 sets (AVA Rox Neon GE) finishing teams which was great for us. Great competition. We finished a much stronger team than we were on Saturday. We played without a DS and a strong MB who were both out. People really picked up their roles.
