Kennedy Juranek '20 Recruiting Profile

I am in my sixth year playing club volleyball.  I love to play the game and to compete. I enjoy being challenged and playing at a high level. I want to find a college team that has the same vision and will come together and battle for every point. A team that can celebrate the victories and also have respect for our opponents in defeats.  I need to find a team that operates as a family.  I want teammates that will stand up for each other even when nobody else is watching. If I can't trust them off the court how will I trust them on the court. 

I want to play volleyball in college as well as getting a quality education. As much as I love the game, I also realize that this won't last forever and a great education will help me with the rest of my life. I would like to try and graduate from college in four years. I understand the extreme cost that is involved with a college education and respect that enough, to be diligent in my work to limit expenses. As of my sophomore year in high school, I am already taking two different classes that will give me college credit, just to get a head start. My present unweighted GPA is 3.92

I would be a great asset to any team because I'm a fighter and a team player. I am very passionate when I play and I want to do my best to make others around me better.  I hold myself to a high standard. With my serve receive rating, I can never be satisfied. I constantly expect more from myself and continue to put additional time in outside of practice to achieve my goals.  During the 2016-17 club season, my serve receive rating was 2.25 in the Gold Division.  I take great pride in doing my job. I know that I'm part of every kill and recognize how important that first pass is. I realize that there is a lot of competition out there and if I'm not working to get better, someone else is. I decided this year to not play my last year in the 16's division.  At 15 years old, my coach recommended that I age-up and play on the top 18's team and that's what I'm doing. It is a challenge because my teammates are bigger and stronger but it's not over my head. I'm adjusting to the speed of the game and being challenged and pushed for everything. In the end,  it will make me a better, stronger, and well rounded player.
