Humiko Stormer '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Humiko Stormer and I currently play for the Toledo Volleyball Club 17-1 team and attend St. Ursula Academy. I am currently the libero for my club team and was a junior on the varsity team's starting defensive specialist for St. Ursula this past season. 

I have been playing competitive volleyball for 7 years. I have played at Toledo Volleyball Club my entire club career and have been on the 12-1, 13-1, 14-1, 16-1 (twice), and 17-1. My teams have qualified for the USAV Junior Nationals the past four seasons. As a JV libero my freshman year, my team was 22-0, and also won our league and tournament. My sophomore year I was the starting varsity defensive specialist. We were 25-3, won our league and league tournament, and finished 3^rd in the Ohio Division 1 state tournament. My junior year I was the starting varsity defensive specialist. We were 23-3, won our league and finished in the Top 8 in the Ohio Division 1 state tournament.

Currently, I am taking honors and AP courses at St. Ursula Academy maintaining a 4.36 GPA. St. Ursula Academy is a highly reputable Catholic High School with a rigorous academic focus and large catalog of coursework. SUA is preparing me to be successful at the college level and a great base for my future growth. My coursework electives are focusing on my future college major of photojournalism and filmmaking.

I believe my hard work and devotion will make me a valuable asset both on the court and in the classroom at any school. Volleyball is a year round sport for me and my commitment to both sport and academia is something that I am very proud to show. My time and energy is devoted to balancing and excelling at both academics and volleyball and I look forward to taking my skills to the next level.
