Emily Smith '16 Recruiting Profile

Ever since the seventh grade, volleyball has proven itself to be the only sport I have ever loved. It has taught me how to work well with others and I have become a better person because of it. I am extremely coachable and there is no one who has a better work ethic. I have taken it upon myself to continue my workouts into the off season by training with OV Crossfit and Total Athlete. My current trainer has worked with some of the world's most successful athletes and continues to push me every day. My primary position is a right side hitter, but I can be extremely versatile. I have also played outside hitter, middle blocker, and setter. I played on the varsity team as a freshman and have been a varsity starter both my sophomore and junior years, earning honorable mention on the OVAC All-Star Team this year. Not only do I pride myself in my volleyball skills, but also in the classroom. I work hard to maintain a high GPA and plan to study Business and Marketing in college. I have wanted to play college volleyball as long as I can remember, so to be given the chance to do so would be completely life changing.
