At 6 years old I was asked to play on my schools 12's club team. At a tournament, they put me in the front row and the opponents coach told them to hit it to me every single time. During one of the volleys for the third time they had sent the ball to me, instead of passing up the ball i attacked the ball and got a kill. I rotated to the back row and the coach subbed me out because i still could not serve the ball over hand. I never felt different because I was only 6, I just wanted to compete. By the end of the season I had turned 7 and could serve over hand. I've become more and more competitive each year and my love for the game has grown so much.
All of our club seasons have been very successful and I've had the opportunity to be captain for the last 7 years. Being captain has given me the opportunity to lead other players that have the same love for the game that I do. Up until last year I have always been an outside hitter and a setter. I had the opportunity to join a new club team and run a 5-1. After that season I realized i wanted to do this in college. Are team won an open qualifier and that is the first time in our clubs history that a team had ever done that. I want to take my skills to the highest level I can in college.
I've worked very hard to keep my grades up. Balancing school and volleyball is always a priority because both will help route my entire life. What i've learned in both is passion and communication will take you far.
