My name is Gabrielle (Gabby) Sawyer. I am currently a junior in Endwell, New York. I joined the Maine Endwell volleyball team my freshman year. I was a swimmer and softball and basketball player before deciding to try out for volleyball in the fall. I did not have any experience, but I quickly learned the ins-and-outs of the game while working on my mechanics. I immediately fell in love with the game and knew I would continue to play throughout my high school career. I am extremely excited to begin my final varsity season this fall!
I started playing on my Whirlwind club team in 2015. I have been working year-round to improve my skills and build athletic strength to successfully compete at a high level. I also participate in summer league, position coaching and university skills camps.
I am an open minded, coachable player with a strong work ethic and a passion to learn and improve. I am a good listener and my coaches have commented on my capacity to follow direction and take critique. My abilities make me an excellent team player and a strong leader. I exude a positive attitude on and off the court. I keep my head up during training and competition and encourage my teammates to do the same.
I am highly motivated and determined to give back to my community. I am involved in extracurricular clubs, activities and volunteering including: the Maine Endwell Dog Rescue Club and the West Corners Lions Club.
I am currently looking for a university/college that has a strong program in biological sciences so that I can pursue my academic interests and play competitive volleyball. I intend on being a positive contributor to the school, volleyball team and campus community, while achieving an excellent education.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Gabby
