My name is Danielle Tedesco, and I am a 16 year old Junior at Cazenovia High School, a small school in Central New York, 22 miles East of Syracuse N.Y. I live with my parents Tom and Diane as well as having 2 brothers Nicholas, whom is serving in the United States Navy and Anthony whom graduated in 2015 from Cazenovia College with a degree in illustration and Animation. We have resided in this Cazenovia community since 2003. I have been fortunate to have been playing Varsity Basketball and Volleyball since 9th grade. I have been chosen as a Scholar Athlete on Varsity Basketball and Volleyball teams since Freshman year. I pride myself in the fact I was selected by the 7th and 8th grade coaches to receive the Craig Frisby award, which is given to the Athlete who displays Athleticism along with good character, leadership and high Academic achievement. I continue to strive to display these traits on and off the court in all areas of my life . My Family is very supportive of my choice to want to play Collegiate Athletics and all that will entail. I have a very strong Christian Faith and pride myself in walking my Faith. I have been blessed to Incorporate my faith with sports since 8th grade by attending Fellow Christian Athletes Camp at Kutztown State University, where I played softball summer entering 8th grade, Basketball 9th grade/10th grade and the summer entering Junior year after playing 2 years of Varsity Volleyball, I realized that my true passion was Volleyball as I too love playing basketball and that playing both Varsity Basketball and Volleyball complement each other and drives me to play hard when in season for either sport. The camp is 5 days includes being coached focused on the sport chosen as well as how my faith is intertwined within my sport as well as my daily life. I continued to be involved with my local FCA Huddle that includes other Christian Athletes’s. I have started taking classes that enable me be able to lead a local huddle. We meet locally before school monthly and I lead the huddle and also encourage the other Christian Athletes to take turns preparing each huddle. As I lead the huddle, I continue to learn through preparing and teaching, but I find how I also value what I learn from others. I work really hard to be aware of opportunities to be a leader, but also importantly to be lead. I currently Co Coach CYAA { Cazenovia community Girls Basketball } and have since 9th grade. This summer I had the opportunity to assist my Varsity Coach with 7/8th grade VolleyBall camp. This is just another opportunity I have learned as much as I have taught. I am a self motivated, directed and focused Student Athlete that have the drive and passion to continue perform at a high level Academically as well Athletically. I am always open to continual opportunities to be taught, be coached, as well as teach in all aspects of my life. I have been fortunate to have been Coached by and will continue to be my Volleyball Coach through Senior Year. Coach Ellithorpe has the passion and love for the game while at the same time pushes me as well my teammates to be the best we can be on and off the off the court. I respect him as a Coach and a Mentor that he supports me in my goal to play Collegiate Division 1 Volleyball. I also am fortunate to have a Varsity Basketball Coach who played for Cazenovia High School and following college she has returned to coach. She has the passion and drive for myself as well as teammates to push us to be the best we can be on and off the court. Since being a Varsity Basketball player since a freshman, This has been an opportunity as a 3rd year Varsity player to be a leader to help Coach Romagnoli transition from a player to a Coach.
My parents have always taught me be true to myself, believe in myself, have the courage to dream big, reach for the stars and with hard work, determination, passion, perseverance, a focused goal with my Faith Anything is Possible. My parents have given me a strong foundation that I will continue to build upon as I continue my life’s journey. My dream is to play Division 1 Collegiate Volleyball and can envision that coming to fruition with my continued hard work, staying focused to succeed academically,as well as preparing to be the best athlete I can be.
My current career stats are 334 kills, 150 blocks, 68 aces as well as sharing the Team’s Most Blocks in a game Record.
