Serena Murphy '15 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goal and aspirations are to be the best student, athlete and person that I can be.  I will strive to give 110% to everything I do and, as I advance in college, I will do my best to be a role model for underclassmen.  

I would make a good candidate for a team because I am a good teammate and team player.  I believe if I do my best and always give it my all then not only will I benefit but the team will also benefit.  I work very hard to be a good friend to my teammates and to be a positive influence.  The Coach of my volleyball team saw the great effort and hard work I put forth and gave me the position of Varsity Captain for the Volleyball team, also I received MVP twice, once as a freshman on Jv and once as a junior on Varsity.  I assisted various camp coaches (for volleyball, basketball and lacrosse) and helped them with the development of younger players and I found it very rewarding and fulfilling. I enjoy giving back to my community and helping the younger kids learn the fundamentals of the sport. 

I believe I am a well-rounded person who has been on the honor roll, participated on my school's volleyball, basketball and lacrosse teams, been a member of the school band playing the flute since the 4th grade and participated in NYSSMA (placing in the top ranking).  I am a very positive, hard-working, determined, smart person who would achieve the high standards required by my coaches and professors.

I try my best to always and never back down when things get tough.
