Taylor Grunert '11 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Taylor Grunert. I am 5 foot 3 1/2 inches tall and weight 135 pounds. Some of my greatest accomplishments in competing are breaking a school record with most aces in a match, with 18 aces. I have played volleyball in school since I was in the 7th grade. As a freshman, I was moved up at the end of the year to play in a tournament, the championships, and sectionals. I was a starter my sophomore and junior year as an all-around player (I play every position except setter) This will be my senior year. As a sophomore, I received an athlete of the week award from a local TV station, was MVP at our Early Bird Tournament, made the all tournament team, first in the C-D division with 93 aces, and received the all-star award from the league. For my junior year, I was first in the C-D division for digs, and an all-star. I am also an all-around player (I play every position, including setter) on a women's league team, as well as on a coed adult league team. I have loved volleyball ever since the first time I played. As a player I just want to be the best I can be. I practice all year round whether on my league teams, or asking people meet me early before practices to help me with form, or just to practice and play. I take what I learn in practice and practice at home when ever I get the chance. I wish to continue playing somewhere in New York through my college years. I prefer to go to a small Christian college, however I am leaving my options open. My first major choice is occupational therapy or occupational therapy assistant. Other majors I am looking at are Social work or massage therapy. As a player my goals are to improve on all skills and be there to help my teammates. Volleyball is like life... you can't make it alone. Thank you.
