Growing up in Nebraska, I developed a passion for volleyball going to the University of Nebraska's volleyball games and local high school volleyball games at a very early age. My love of the sport grew when I started playing club when I was nine years old. Over the last seven years, I have dedicated myself to developing myself as a volleyball player. In fact, over the last five years, my family has supported my commitment by driving me an hour and half
each way sometimes three or four times per week so I could play for the highest level club teams in our area.
As a result of this dedication, I was able to compete on the highest teams at my club for the last 4 years. Furthermore, I was able to start as the sole setter for my high school coach, Sharon Zavala, who currently has 1003 wins when I was a freshman. Thus far, I have had the privilege to play on two very good teams. In 2016, our team was 26-6, and currently, this season we are 31-2 and ranked number 1 in C-1 by the Omaha World Herald. We are Ranked All-class number 8. This is a particularly large feat given the fact we play in our state's third largest class. As a setter, I have wonderful hitters that I am very thankful to have as teammates. Over the next two and years of my high school career, I can only hope that as a team we are able to reach our goal of winning a state championship.
I believe that what sets me apart as a teammate and as a player is my intense drive to always be better and my selfless attitude, I feel that these two qualities would be a great asset to any team I would play on at the collegiate level. Furthermore, these two qualities will also undoubtedly help me in obtaining my goal of becoming a physician.
