I have been an active in sports almost as long as I can remember, starting with tee ball little league. I played volleyball in a recreation league in 5th grade and fell in love with the sport. As I have gotten older, I have really focused on developing my volleyball skills and game sense.
As I am finishing my sophomore season in high school, my most memorable experiences so far include competing in the USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships, starting in my first varsity game for Clear Creek Amana High School as a freshman, and traveling alone to Florida to play on a national team. These and other volleyball experiences have helped me to develop strong leadership on the court, sportsmanship skills on and off the court, as well as a high volleyball IQ.
Along with a passion for volleyball, I would bring a great sense of humor and pride for each of my teammates to your team. My coaches often say that my attitude can set the tone for the team, as I readily share my enthusiasm and relentlessly celebrate everyone’s accomplishments.
My future goals include 1) studying toward certification as an Athletic Trainer with a minor in Nutrition Science, 2) bringing my knowledge of sports medicine and the nutritional needs of athletes to a collegiate or professional sports team, and 3) sharing my love of volleyball with young girls as a volleyball coach for a club team.
