Personal Statement

My goal is to play competitive college volleyball while following the Pre-Med track at a top academic university.  I have played travel club since I was in 7th grade and started for my Varsity team as a Freshman. For the past three years I have been a captain on both my school and club teams and have learned a great deal about leadership and relationships with my teammates. I have a strong court IQ and am very aware of other players on the court, which allows me to distribute the ball to the hitter most likely to score. I am often described as a consistent and level-headed player who can remain calm and logical under pressure.

I currently hold a 4.78 GPA and am ranked 3rd out of 284 students. Outside of the classroom and gym I enjoy writing and am currently a staff writer for Affinity Magazine and Women’s Republic. I have also been published by a handful of other forums including TeenInk and Hermeneutic Chaos.

My mother is Chinese and, thanks to the fact she has always spoken the language to me, I am fluent in the language. I have also taken several years of Spanish and am currently learning Norwegian. My hobby with languages helps me keep my mind limber and open to new possibilities.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile, it is greatly appreciated.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
