I found my competitive spirit and passion for sports in middle school. I earned the 2013 Classic League Girls Volleyball MVP and our schools most coveted athletic award, Heart of the Bearcat. I loved and played every team sport offered at our school. When I entered high school, I got serious about volleyball and demonstrated my commitment to the sport by playing club. I made the 3rd team in club as a freshman. I feel that I grew the most as a student athlete my freshman year. I began conditioning outside the sport and this led me to refocus on becoming a stronger setter and all around player. Coach O'Laughlin said that I would play any position, even middle, if she asked me to. Her assessment is accurate. I love the game. I practiced, practiced some more, and improved. The next year, I made the National team at Michio and I am happy to be playing at the highest level.
The highlight of my high school athletics was winning Sectionals, being in the elite 8 in Illinois in 2015. As a team captain and starting player for several years, I learned the value of teamwork, leadership, commitment, perseverance and flexibility. I am smart on the court. I am looking for a high academic program in business that is also a great fit for my athletic ability and competitiveness. I believe that I have the talent to compete at the collegiate level and the character, work ethic and leadership to make an immediate impact on your team.
In addition, I have the academic credentials to get admissions excited with a 4.3 G.P.A. Off the court I spend my time with an amazing organization, Best Buddies. We foster friendships, organize events and fund raise for young adults with disabilities. I helped start this organization at Fenwick High School as a sophomore and continue to lead and develop the program in my spare time.
