My name is Kara Rockey from Oak Lawn, Illinois. The past two seasons I was a starting libero/DS for McNeese State University in Louisiana and this past season I was given the honor of being named a team captain. Just to tell you a little bit about myself. I graduated in 2013 from Harold L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn, Illinois. While there I was a 4 year starting libero at the varsity level and named “All-Conference” my last three years. I also played for MICHIO Chicago Volleyball Academy from 2011-2012. I was a starting libero/DS for my club team when we finished ranked 3rd in the United States in 2012. As a student, I am currently seeking an undergraduate degree in English and a minor in Spanish. I currently have a 3.5 GPA, which is no easy task while playing DI volleyball. I attack my academics with the same level of intensity that I play volleyball. I understand that if my academics falter so does my volleyball. Although I have enjoyed my time at MSU I feel that at this time it is my best interest to transfer.
