I am a high school athlete who would like to further my sports career into college; I want to make a positive impact on a great program. Throughout my high school career I have experienced great people who have made me want to succeed even more in life. My parents and teachers have pushed me to keep a 3.95 GPA while being on the All Conference All-Academic team each of my three years on varsity. In volleyball, my coaches have pushed me to be the greatest player possible. I have started three years on varsity, my sophomore year as a right side and my last two years as middle. My first year on varsity I played with ten other seniors under five different coaches who pushed me to be the greatest player possible. My last two years of high school I have been the Naperville Central girls Volleyball program captain. My junior year, I was voted onto three of the four All-Tournament teams that we as a team played in. I have been voted as honorable mention in state for two years, and have been voted onto the All-Conference team both years, this year being anonymously. I also play for Club One Volleyball out of Plainfield, IL in the off season. I played on Club One’s 17u team my freshmen year and have been on the 18u team for the past three years. I have also been the program captain at Club One for two years now. Outside of volleyball I work a lot in the Adapted program at Central. The kids in that program make me want to be the best person I can be and never cease to make my day. I am a peer in Adapted PE at Central, where we are in different "tribes" of 4-5 people with 1-2 adapted kids. Over the past two years of being a peer I have made friendships with so many different people I never would’ve guessed. One of my adapted kids, Alex, waits for me every day before school so she can walk me to class. On the walk, she tells me about how much she enjoys gym and how she cannot wait to see me again during school. Another student, Chloe, acts as the relationship police, and tells all the couples in the hallways "hands to self" or "I'm watching you" as we walk by. They always seem to brighten my day and make me want to be a better person. Lastly, I take academics very seriously. My entire family and all of my past coaches have always believed that academics come before athletics. I believe that they come hand in hand. Being a student athlete I have to learn how to manage my time wisely and get things done so I can stay on top of grades and performance in volleyball. Volleyball gives me a structure so that I barely have free time to waste on things other than school work, family, or friends. I have always held myself to a high standard and know that I need to put maximum effort into all of my classes in order to achieve the grades I expect from myself. Over my high school career I have maintained a 3.95/4.00 GPA and got a 26 on the ACT on my third try. I believe that education is the most valuable asset someone can have later on for the work-force, and always put academics first. I want to major in Education, but am not positive on what grade level yet; most likely Elementary. Overall, I believe I have personally achieved above and beyond in school and volleyball and want to make an immediate positive impact in every aspect of college life.
