I have been playing volleyball for as long as I can remember. Since I was in sixth grade, I have always been on the upper team, always one step ahead of the others. Throughout my career as a volleyball player, I have noticed that in order to have a successful season, the idea of team needs to be present. The idea of being a part of something greater than yourself has been my breakthrough thought for my career.
My goals for college are to be in a volleyball program that best fits my aspirations and idea of what a college athlete is. I need to be focused, trustworthy, and be able to feel safe in the environment offered. I know that education is my intended major, but I am currently unaware of the age group I would like to teach. The qualities that make me a good candidate for your team is the fact that I have been in a leadership role before, and as a setter, I would need to be the backbone of the team. I am not loud nor quiet, but only speak up respectfully when needed. I try to make others better around me and act in a positive manner. Everyone on the team has a job, and what makes a team is when every teammate comes together for one purpose, to win and get better.
Some things that make me different in character than others is the fact that I have overcame much as a person. I was put on varsity as a sophomore in high school, with only one underclassman with me. The fact that I have seen much talent walk through my school and that I have been a part of it has made my athletic career worthwhile. I always strive to get better at what I do, and not let the little things bother the big picture. In school, I have maintained a 3.85 GPA by being involved in college classes and one honors class for 3 years. I have noticed that having a foot in the door gets more opportunities than sitting back and watching. I like to take action. I am also involved in National Honors Society and Spanish National Honors Society in school. These clubs require service hours and I am currently involved in something bigger than myself in and out of the classroom. Volleyball is my passion, and I would love the opportunity to play.
