18's Season is starting teams will be decided over the next few weeks. More info to follow.
17's season was a bit of a rocky year. Myself as well as my teammates are constantly working hard. I am the captain of the team and the setter. Typically we run a 5/1. But that has not always been the case this year. Due to injuries on the team this year; and there have been a lot of them, I have also had to play middle. While running the 6/2; while I'm in the front room I will hit middle. I'm glad that being versatile is one of my many attributes. Just last night (3/17/12) the coach of our opposing team (Team One) approached me to let me know that I'm a great setter. It's really uplifting when I here this from coaches out side my club and hope it trendsends into a great college offer/opportunity.
The 16's season for my club (Fusion) I was team captain and very excited to be given such an honor. Many times through out the season I had coaches from the opposing teams comment on how well I set and how smart of a setter I am. It's not easy for the opposing team to read where I'm going to send the ball. Even parents from the opposing teams approach not only me but also my mom and comment on how I play. I view being approached by coaches, ref's and parent's as the ultimate complement.
I dream of playing collegiate volleyball. My goal for volleyball is to play at the highest competitive level possible and also to play as a freshman (hopefully), but understand that might not be possible. I am also very interested in playing sand volleyball if it is available. My goal for my education is to study marine biology.
For my club (Fusion), I have played competitions such as; Asic's, JVA, USA Volleyball, AAU and also compete in the Great Lakes Region. Last season I participated in the Showcase combine as well as the President's combine. I also tried-out this year for HP and was selected for A3 which I was very proud of since this was my first year setting for club. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend one of the camp locations due to a family financial set-back. Saving for next year though and with more experience I hope to place even higher!
