I was raised on a farm where I learned the value of hard work, being organized, and how beautiful the world around me can be. I grew up in a world where compassion, honesty, and carrying your weight were crucial. With those values deeply ingrained in me, I found being part of a volleyball team was a natural fit. Being part of a 'family' where we all wanted to be highly competitive while supporting each other was very exciting. My interest in volleyball began in 4th grade and has grown with each team I get to be part of. I have learned more then just how to set, pass, serve, and hit from my club. I have learned how to be organized, prioritize, and push myself beyond what I think I can do. One of the most vaulable skills I have learned from playing, is how to take a skill such as a serve and break it down into steps. With this I have developed the ability to teach myself everything from volleyball skills to chemistry equations, as well as, teach kids in the Volleykids program I help with. The next four years I plan to maintain high grades at my college prep highschool in order to pursue a career in the medical field. I am looking for a college that will help me further my pursuit of attending a medical program with my final goal being a degree in anesthesiology. I strongly believe that volleyball is 95% mental and 5% physical, and I bring that mentality to the court. In addition to playing smart, I also understand volleyball is a team sport and every player is a crucial part of a successful team. I have a strong passion for the game of volleyball, and an even stronger work ethic and drive that will make me a great asset on and off the court. I have overcome many obstacles throughout my life with one thing always pushing me - "I never lose, I learn!".
