My strong passion for being involved socially at school put me in a position that was definitely out of my comfort zone. During the 2016 Boys Basketball season my choir teacher selected a handful of students to sing the National Anthem at different games. This was something I wasn’t really comfortable with, but I decided to take a stab at it. When it comes to singing I’m not as confident and I practiced and practiced because I was afraid of embarrassing myself. The day leading up to the game I was a nervous wreck and wasn’t sure how to control my nerves while singing. When it was finally time to sing I casually walked down and sang the anthem. Afterwards I was proud that I stepped out of my comfort zone and excelled in something I would have never thought I would have done. All in all, I was pushed to achieve something out of my comfort zone, and it made me realize how much I am capable of doing.
